Michael Whitfield is a distinguished academic and scientist currently serving as the Chair of Biomedical Data Science and Professor of Molecular and Systems Biology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth since October 2003. In addition to roles as Interim Chair and Professor of Biomedical Data Science, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor, Michael is also the Scientific Founder of the Scleroderma Diagnostics subsidiary at Celdara Medical, a position held since 2009. Michael's educational background includes a Postdoc in Genetics and Genomics from Stanford University School of Medicine and a PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, complemented by a B.S./B.A. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Genetics from North Carolina State University. Prior to the current role at Dartmouth, Michael engaged in a Post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford University from 1999 to 2003.
