Joost Naessens serves as the Director of Transport & Logistics at Cefic (European Chemical Industry Council) since January 2019, while also holding a seconded position as Director of Transport & Logistics at BASF. With over two decades at BASF, Joost Naessens has held various roles, including Program Manager for Infrastructure Projects, Project Manager for Site Infrastructure Strategy, and Manager of Logistic Site Services. Joost Naessens has extensive experience in logistics management, including rail and terminal services, product logistics, and technical materials management. Joost Naessens began their career as a Logistics Analyst, focusing on process design and supply chain optimization. Additionally, Joost Naessens was a member of the Board at Porticom cvba from 2011 to September 2016. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Ghent University, earned between 1988 and 1993.
