James “Norm” Lillis is vice president of small business for CDW. Lillis is responsible for leading the sales and technology solutions functions for CDW’s small business unit, including driving performance, strategic direction, business initiatives and talent development.
Lillis joined CDW in 1993 as an account manager, and since then he has amassed a broad range of customer, channel and leadership experience spanning various customer and technology segments. Lillis served in a variety of management positions before being promoted to vice president of sales in 2000. He was appointed as vice president of services in 2006, with primary responsibility for CDW’s product and configuration services. In 2009, he was promoted to vice president of data center solutions, with responsibility for the strategy and execution of the data center solutions practice. Lillis headed up the creation of CDW's small business technology solutions practice in 2016, and he assumed the leadership of CDW’s small business sales organization in 2019.
Lillis graduated cum laude from Loras College with a bachelor’s degree in speech communications/public relations. He also completed the University of Chicago’s Chicago Management Institute program in 2003. Lillis is a member of the CompTIA Services Section, the Sales Executive Council of the Corporate Executive Board and the Executives’ Club of Chicago, where he serves on the technology committee. Lillis also chairs CDW’s BRAVE (Business Resource Alliance Valuing Equality) Business Resource Group. Additionally, Lillis is past president of the board of directors of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Lake County, a local office of the nationwide CASA program, which supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.
