Derrick Gervin

Branch Chief at CDC

Derrick Gervin serves as Branch Chief and Director of Extramural Research Program Operations at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where responsibilities include leading teams in the Division of Violence Prevention and the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention. Prior experience includes roles as Lead Evaluator at TEG, School Social Worker with the DeKalb County School System, Program Analyst at the Pretrial Services Agency, and Health Service Officer with the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. Derrick Gervin holds a PhD in Social Work Policy, Planning, and Administration from Clark Atlanta University, a Master of Social Work from The University of Georgia, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Georgia State University.
