Shana L. McDanold currently serves as the Assistant Manager of Cataloging at DC Public Library, a position held since January 2018. Previously, Shana was the Unit Head of Metadata Services at Georgetown University from October 2012 to August 2017, where responsibilities included managing the Metadata Services Unit and overseeing innovative leadership in cataloging and metadata services, as well as directing library-wide policies. Shana's earlier experience includes roles as the Electronic Resources and Serials Cataloging Librarian at the University of Pennsylvania and as a Serials and Non-Print Formats Cataloger at Saint Louis University, along with a cataloging position at Washington University in St. Louis. Shana holds a Master of Library Science from Indiana University Bloomington and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and Literatures (Spanish) from Whitman College.
