Abigail S. is an ORISE Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, specializing in the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases and the Coronavirus and Other Respiratory Viruses Division. With a background as a Graduate Epidemiology Assistant focusing on tuberculosis, Abigail is currently also an Environmental Health and Research Database Intern at the Environmental Working Group, where extensive research on consumer product safety is conducted. Recent work as a Student Surveillance Epidemiologist at the Georgia Emerging Infections Program involved active surveillance for respiratory viruses and data analysis regarding vaccination trends among vulnerable populations. Previous positions include a Research Assistant Intern at eHealth Africa and Health Assessment and Safety Coordinator at Piedmont Pediatric Dentistry, showcasing a strong commitment to public health. Abigail holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts in International/Global Studies, Biology, and Statistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
