Michael Russell is an experienced data science professional currently serving as Vice President and Data Science Lead at Castleton Commodities International since February 2023. Prior to this role, Michael held the position of Senior Data Scientist at causaLens from December 2019 to February 2023, where contributions were made to the development of Causal AI products. Earlier, Michael worked as a Data Scientist at IHS Markit, focusing on predictive analytics for financial and economic time series, and completed a Data Science Fellowship at ASI Data Science. Michael's academic background includes a PhD in Elementary Particle Physics from the University of Glasgow and a Master of Physics from The University of Manchester, complemented by a postdoctoral research position at the University of Heidelberg.
