Our process begins with observations from which we design a comprehensive plan. It continues on as we teach our clients and their circle of support how to obtain positive, sustainable outcomes.

Job Classification: Exempt Position

Compensation:

  • $95,000 salary + opportunities for quarterly bonusesĚý
  • Hiring Bonus $5,000 (paid over 6 months)
  • Relocation Stipend up to $2,500 (paid within 30 days; receipts required)

Summary: The Program Director holds the ultimate responsibility for overseeing the daily functions of CBEM’s Critical Intervention Service in their office. The Program Director brings both supervisory and clinical skills to the table, contributing to the supervision of a Critical Intervention Team that interacts with the Regional Center, our clients, and their circle of support, as well as our consultants and the community in the counties where we provide services. In addition, the Program Director ensures that CBEM’s mission, values, and organizational clarity are infused into all aspects of their position.

Team Management/Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and evaluate staff efforts to achieve program objectives at each location.
  • Provide approval of new hires, participate in interviews, and supervise the Assistant Director in the hiring, on-boarding and off-boarding process.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of Critical Intervention Team members, including the Assistant Director, Critical Intervention Specialists (CIS), and, where applicable, Stabilization Interventionists (SI).
  • Coach and counsel staff using CBEM’s Coaching and Counseling procedures as needed in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Provide feedback and evaluate the performance of the Clinical Intervention Team.
  • Available to support the Critical Intervention Team and address questions and concerns, and to debrief about the provision of critical intervention services.Ěý
  • Mentor Critical Intervention Team members with CPS, APS, and other related matters as they arise.
  • Facilitate clinical and administrative weekly Team Meetings.
  • Responsible for team acknowledgments, including celebrations, rewards, and recognitions.
  • Monitor work schedules and oversee the hotline schedule of CBEM’s Critical Intervention Team members to ensure appropriate coverage in conjunction with the Assistant Director.
  • Coordinate employees’ time off in conjunction with Human Resources and Payroll.
  • Adhere to a prescribed budget by CBEM’s Finance Department.Ěý
  • Participate in the Administrative On Call Rotation (AOC) and office crisis line as needed if staffing is a barrier).
  • Effectively support clients in critical situations/incidents in person as necessary.
  • Review and sign off on employees’ time, mileage, and expense reimbursements.
  • Responsible for monitoring and communicating deliverable hours to each staff person.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Quality Assurance/Clinical Responsibilities

  • Complete regular documentation review (Case notes, Stabilization Plans, Case reviews, database documentation).
  • Oversight of the Stabilization Plan and monitoring the quality of the case progress, fade/transition plans as needed. Monitor the intake and assessment process. Assess effectiveness in achieving goals.ĚýĚý
  • Review and monitor the quality of service for each client, including the number of hours of service provided to each client.
  • Ensure Client Satisfaction and Regional Center Service Coordinator/Supervision surveys are offered and made available on behalf of the CBEM Critical Intervention Team throughout the year.
  • Oversight of external clinical consultants in conjunction with the Regional Director.Ěý
  • Oversee end-of-month billing. Review and approve all final billable hours submitted by Critical Intervention Team members before submitting them to the Finance Dept. for processing.Ěý
  • Review and ensure that Active clients receive at least four hours of services a month.
  • Oversee Purchase of Service (POS) procedures for the office (not applicable to RCRC staff.)Ěý
  • Prepare and present quarterly operating reviews to the senior management team.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate ĚýĚýCBEM’s ĚýĚýcritical ĚýĚýintervention ĚýĚýphilosophy ĚýĚýof ĚýĚýpositive ĚýĚýbehavioral ĚýĚýpractice, compassion, and respect, as well as CBEM’s mission and values.
  • Act as primary liaison with the Regional Center. Maintain stakeholder engagement by communicating information on an ongoing basis to the liaison at the Regional Center.
  • Facilitate external training with the Critical Intervention Team as requested by CBEM’s stakeholders.Ěý
  • Attend Service Provider/Vendor Advisory Committee Meetings at the Regional Center, mental health-related meetings/committees, forensic meetings, and any other meetings pertinent to our clients.Ěý
  • Represent CBEM at the Regional Center Monthly Meetings.Ěý
  • Attend CBEM Drop-in Clinic Hours at the Regional Center.
  • Manage the number of client referrals from the Regional Center.Ěý

Outreach

  • Execute the outreach plan for your office supplied by the Senior Director, which includes stakeholder outreach to managers and supervisors within the Regional Center and communication with our liaison.Ěý
  • Network with local professionals/organizations / Regional Center providers to educate them about CBEM’s services, promote growth, and encourage collaboration.

Organizational Growth and DevelopmentĚý

  • Contribute to the organization’s development and growth of internal policies, processes, procedures, and training.
  • Participate in the CBEM Management Team and meet periodically.
  • Support CBEM values of excellence, service, integrity and inclusivity.Ěý

  • A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or behavioral science is required.ĚýĚý

Experience

  • At least three years of experience managing a team is preferred.
  • Preferred to have worked in a related capacity, such as Assistant Director or Critical Intervention Specialist.
  • Strong working knowledge of DSM V diagnoses.
  • Strong working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven Clinical Assessment skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Behavioral and Psychological Skills

  • Ability to utilize least restrictive measures in avoiding escalated situations. Ěý
  • Ability to use verbal interventions that involve empathy, compassion, positive behavioral programming, respect, openness, and a client-centered approach, as well as those best practice interventions outlined in the least restrictive verbal intervention protocol. Ěý

Writing Skills

  • Ability to keep Coaching Logs for all direct reports, cataloging wins and challenges on behalf of direct reports.
  • Ability to produce reports that are related to client deliverables and staff performance. Ěý
  • Ability to communicate with Critical Intervention Team members, Supervisor, Stakeholders (Regional Center), circle of support, and other vendors.
  • Ability to write in English and produce written material with appropriate grammar. Ěý

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical periodicals, and governmental regulations. Ěý
  • Ability to effectively and creatively present information and respond to questions from Regional Center Case Managers, clients, parents, regional center representatives, and the general public. Ěý
  • Ability to effectively counsel clients in critical situations/incidents. Ěý

Licenses and/or Certificates

  • Current California driver’s license and proof of sufficient car insurance minimums (must maintain during employment) with your means of transportation.
  • Clearance of DOJ/FBI records (complete before hire)
  • Proof of Negative Tuberculosis Screening (upon hire)
