Rob Acton has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Rob is the Founder & CEO of Cause Strategy Partners, where they lead a program called BoardLead that recruits and supports professionals for nonprofit board service. Prior to this, they were the Executive Director of Taproot Foundation, where they engaged business professionals in pro bono consulting and spearheaded fundraising efforts. Rob also led Cabrini Green Legal Aid as the Executive Director, overseeing all aspects of the organization. Rob Acton has held various teaching positions, including as an Adjunct Professor at Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management and DePaul University College of Law. Rob also has experience working in the legal field, having served as a Staff Attorney at Legal Aid Society, Juvenile Rights Division, and as the Director of Legal Education at Legal Outreach.
Rob Acton has a Juris Doctorate degree from Brooklyn Law School, which they obtained from 1994 to 1997. Rob also has a B.A. in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Spring Arbor University, earned between 1987 and 1991. In terms of certifications, Rob is a Member of the Bar in New York, certified as a Benefit Corporation, and has been recognized as part of the RealLeaders 100 Top Impact Companies in North America. Rob has also completed professional development courses in Leading Professional Service Firms and Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at Harvard Business School Online.
