Melissa Peterson Smith, LMSW, has experience working as a Program Coordinator and Lead School Counselor at Catholic Charities of Tennessee, Inc. Melissa has provided individual and group counseling to students in grades Pre-K-8th grade, addressing various concerns such as trauma recovery, grief and loss, anxiety, and social skills. Melissa has also worked as a Counseling Intern at Family and Children's Service, where Melissa utilized trauma-informed treatment modalities and facilitated psycho-educational support groups. Additionally, Melissa has experience in crisis intervention counseling at the Crisis Call Center and served as Assistant Director at Vanderbilt University's International Office. Melissa holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
