Aaron Joplin has a diverse work experience primarily in the field of education. Aaron is currently working as a School Principal at Catawba County Schools since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director of the Northwest Learning Community at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools from 2019 to 2022, and as the Talent Acquisition Manager for Leadership from 2017 to 2019. From 2015 to 2017, they held the position of Principal at Grandview Middle School in Hickory Public Schools. Before that, they worked as the Principal of Sparta Elementary (K-8) at Alleghany County Schools from 2014 to 2015. Aaron also served as an Assistant Principal from 2011 to 2014 in Hickory Public Schools and as a Teacher at Viewmont Elementary School from 2005 to 2011. Additionally, they have experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 2002 to 2003.
Aaron Joplin has a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from East Carolina University, which they obtained in 2001. In 2005, they completed a Master of Arts in Teaching from East Carolina University. Aaron then pursued further education at Appalachian State University, where they obtained a School Leadership Add-On Licensure in Education in 2009, and an Education Specialist - Ed.S. degree in 2012. Additionally, they hold certifications in Elementary Education K-6 Teacher, Principal, and Superintendent from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
