Ronald William Simms Jr. serves as the Associate Director of Communications at Catalyst California since September 2019, overseeing communications strategies and department operations. With extensive experience in digital communications, Ronald owned Open Sky Photo Studio while previously holding positions at New American Leaders as Digital Communications Manager, where significant increases in social media followings were achieved, and at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, where substantial growth in Facebook and Twitter engagement occurred. Prior roles include Digital Communications Specialist at McKinney & Associates, Director of Global Customer Communications at CA ADvance, and contributions as a writer at M.I.S.S. Ronald holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from New York University and completed secondary education at Gonzaga College High School.
