Matthew Newton is an experienced government administrator currently serving as the County Administrator for Cass County, Michigan since July 2022, following a tenure as Deputy Administrator. Previous roles include Village Manager and Village Clerk/Treasurer for the Village of Decatur, where Matthew oversaw village departments, implemented HR policies, and managed accounts payable and FOIA requests. Prior property management experience includes positions at T&R Properties and Herman & Kittle Properties, where Matthew supervised staff and handled leasing and maintenance for multiple residential complexes. Matthew holds a B.B.A. in Finance from Grand Valley State University.
