Gahia Owhochiku, MD, MPH, currently serves as an Infection Preventionist at Providence Health & Services since September 2022. Previously, Gahia held the position of COVID-19 Health Equity Epidemiologist at the Oregon Health Authority from June 2021 to May 2022. Additional experience includes working as a Learning Specialist in Disability Services at the University of Massachusetts Amherst between January 2019 and May 2021, and as a Case Investigator for the Maryland COVID-19 Link Initiative at NORC at the University of Chicago from May 2020 to December 2020. Early in the career, Gahia worked as a Medical Officer at Sterling Specialist Hospital and at General Hospital Issele-Uku, as well as at the University of Port-harcourt Teaching Hospital. Gahia Owhochiku earned a Master of Public Health with a focus in Epidemiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2021 and holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Port Harcourt, obtained in 2014.
