Alex Dommasch

Principal Software Engineer at Cascade Energy, Inc

Alex Dommasch has extensive work experience in software engineering and development. They started their career at Multnomah County in 2001, where they led the development of the ACHP application, replacing an outdated system. After that, they worked at Certegy, where they maintained and enhanced Premier Internet Banking. At Musicstrands Inc, they designed and developed the server-side component of MyStrands, a music-player plug-in. They then joined Optimization Technologies, Inc., where they worked on the Boeing EFB project, developing the File Transfer System.

From 2006 to 2010, Alex worked at Cayuse LLC as an Engineering Manager, overseeing the software development team for Cayuse424/Subawards.com. They contributed to the growth of Cayuse, helping them become a market leader in the preparation of federal research grant applications.

Following that, Alex joined Nike and worked there as a Senior Software Engineer, involved in projects such as extending "Nike ID" to team sports products and leading sub-teams for "nike.com" and associated systems. At FiREapps, they were responsible for refactoring data access code and extending an existing FTP-to-HTTP bridge.

In 2015, Alex returned to Nike as a Senior Software Engineer, automating performance testing and enhancing auto-deployment code. They also mentored others on cloud computing principles and architecture. At LeanPath, Inc., they served as a Senior Software Engineer and introduced continuous integration practices.

Alex's most recent position is as a Principal Software Engineer at Cascade Energy, Inc, starting in 2018.

Alex Dommasch received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science / Physics from the University of Utah, where they studied from 1985 to 1989. Additionally, Alex has obtained various certifications from Amazon, including the AWS Certified Developer – Associate in December 2014, the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional in December 2014, and the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate in November 2014.
