Miguel Alvarez has a wealth of work experience in the field of data science. Miguel'scareer began in 2011 at Decide Soluciones, where they held the roles of Lead Operations Research & Data Scientist and Operations Research - Optimization Scientist & Consultant. In 2010, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where they worked on the development of a decision support software to assist in the distribution of humanitarian aid under adverse conditions. In 2018, they became an Adjunct Professor at Universidad Pontificia Comillas, and in 2019 they were a Lead Data Scientist and Lead Data Scientist | Optimization at CARTO and Glovo, respectively. In 2022, they began their current role as an Adjunct Professor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
Miguel Alvarez attended Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Licenciatura en Matemáticas in Mathematics. Miguel also attended the University of Amsterdam from 2007 to 2008, studying Mathematics. In 2010, they attended Loyola University Chicago to study International Relations. In 2017, they began a MicroMasters Program in Supply Chain Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Miguel obtained the following certifications from MIT: CTL.SC1x: Supply Chain Fundamentals (September 2017), CTL.SC2x: Supply Chain Design (December 2017), CTL.SC0x: Supply Chain Analytics (December 2017), CTL.SC3x: Supply Chain Dynamics (April 2018), CTL.SC4x: Supply Chain Technology and Systems (July 2018), and CTL.CFx: Supply Chain Comprehensive Exam (September 2018). Miguel also obtained a Discrete Optimization certification from Coursera Verified Certificates in August 2013.
