Joni (Baker) Conlon is an experienced professional focused on community safety and Indigenous social work. Currently serving as the Prevention and Practice Standards Manager, Integrated Services Social Worker, and Community Safety Coordinator at Carrier Sekani Family Services since April 2016, Joni Conlon works to enhance community safety for Indigenous women and address systemic barriers along the Highway of Tears. Prior experience includes roles at the College of New Caledonia from September 2004 to September 2015, where Joni Conlon coordinated support services and facilitated programs aimed at reducing social isolation among women and families. Joni Conlon holds a Master’s degree in Indigenous Social Work from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Social Work with a First Nations specialization from the University of Northern British Columbia.
