David Simpson has enjoyed success in the field of product design, development and marketing for more than 25 years, integrating innovation, practicality and an unswerving focus on business results. Extremely deadline and budget oriented, David is passionate about translating emerging trends into successful product lines as well as creating classic designs that connect on an emotional level and sell through at retail.
As a Director of Product Development and contributing designer for both Carolyn Kinder International and Crestview Collection, David was instrumental in production of designs for all areas of the Home Furnishings Industry including fixed and portable lighting, accent furniture, decorative accessories, wall art and mirrors.
As lead designer for Spectrum Creations and Tenth Avenue Lighting, David developed more than 70 collections of lighting, occasional furniture and decorative accessories, as well as a significant number of standalone items.
With a wealth of experience in product design, hand applied finishes and a highly developed eye for detail, color and proportion, David contributed successful designs for companies such as The Uttermost Company, Casablanca Fans, Spectrum Creations (for The Home Depot), Tenth Avenue Lighting, Crestview Collection, Designers Fountain, Austin Sculpture, Seagull Lighting, Thomas Lighting and Montaage.
As an independent designer and marketing specialist David originally focused on graphic design for Print and New Media, and evolved to a multifaceted creative outlet featuring Fine Art, Professional Photography, Product Design, Market Research, Trend Analysis, Brand Identity, Print and Web Design as well as Social Media Marketing.
With David’s return to Carolyn Kinder International as Vice president of Product and Marketing the company seeks new opportunities and will continue to build on our history of success. Our goal is to continue to develop a closer connection with consumers on a global level, to address the needs of our long-time customers as well as emerging markets.
