Sossena Wood, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University following a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biomedical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University's College of Engineering. Sossena completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where also served as a doctoral candidate, graduate student researcher, K. Leroy Irvis Fellow, and Lab Manager at the RF Research Facility. Additionally, Sossena held various instructional roles at the Fund for the Advancement of Minorities through Education (FAME) and leadership positions as the National Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for the National Society of Black Engineers. Sossena earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
