Peter Hitson has extensive work experience in various roles related to legal project management and legal process improvement. Peter most recently served as the Director of Legal Project & Practice Management at Carlton Fields, where they implemented the Legal Project Management program and led process improvement initiatives. Prior to that, they were the Director of Legal Process Innovation at Wilson Elser, where they launched the Wilson Elser ALIGN program and provided LPM training to over 1,000 professionals. Peter also held strategic leadership positions at The Hartford, where they oversaw litigation and expense management strategies, developed panel counsel programs, and managed in-house law offices. Before that, they worked as an attorney at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, P.C. and Pietragallo, Bosick & Gordon. Overall, Peter Hitson has a strong background in legal project management, process improvement, and leadership roles within the legal industry.
Peter Hitson has a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, which they completed from 1988 to 1991. Before that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy from Denison University, attending from 1984 to 1988. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained additional certifications, including the Accredited Legal Project Manager (ALPM) from the True Value Partnering Institute in December 2018, and the Certified White Belt in Legal Lean Sigma and Project Management from the Legal Lean Sigma Institute LLC in May 2014.
