Chief Of Advocacy & Campaigns at Caring Across Generations

Nicole Jorwic has extensive work experience in the field of disability rights advocacy and public policy. Nicole began their career as a Law Clerk and Office Manager at The Law Offices of N. David Kornfeld from 2006 to 2008. Nicole then worked as a Law Clerk at Katz, Friedman, Eagle, Eisenstein, Johnson & Bareck from 2008 to 2009. In 2009, they became a Special Education Attorney at The Law Offices of Charles Fox, where they advocated for students with disabilities and handled legal cases related to education rights.

From 2009 to 2010, Nicole served as a Volunteer Attorney at Equip for Equality. In 2012, they became the CEO/President of the Institute on Public Policy for People with Disabilities, where they focused on operations management, strategic planning, and developing relationships with stakeholders in the disability services field. Nicole led educational workshops and provided training to support the organization's mission.

In 2014, Nicole joined the State of Illinois as a Senior Policy Advisor and Manager of the Employment First Initiative. Nicole oversaw program development and coordinated employment services for individuals with disabilities. Nicole developed a statewide strategic plan for Employment First and collaborated with stakeholders throughout the state.

Nicole then worked at Autism Speaks in 2015 as a Policy Consultant, focusing on housing and community living for individuals with autism. The same year, they joined The Arc of the United States as the Director of Rights Policy, advocating for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities at both the national and state levels. Nicole later served as the Senior Director of Public Policy and Senior Executive Officer of State Advocacy at The Arc, where they led national coalitions, represented the organization at events, and testified before Congress.

In 2020, Nicole worked as an Independent Reviewer, monitoring the use of Medicaid funding in sheltered workshops and transitioning youth in Oregon. Nicole facilitated negotiations and evaluations, conducted interviews, and ensured compliance with a settlement agreement.

Currently, Nicole is the Chief of Advocacy and Campaigns at Caring Across Generations. In this role, they provide direction and coordination to advocacy teams, leads organizational strategic planning, and establishes partnerships to drive policy priorities.

Throughout their career, Nicole has demonstrated a commitment to disability rights, advocacy, and promoting inclusive policies and services for individuals with disabilities.

Nicole Jorwic holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree with a focus on Child and Family Law Certificate and Education Law Practicum from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Nicole also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Sports Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Nicole Jorwic also obtained a certification in Child and Family Law.
