Jamya Minor

Community Health Worker at CareStar

Jamya Minor started their work experience in 2015 as a Student Director for Relay For Life. From January to March 2020, they worked as an After School Tutor at Moili'ili Community Center. In September to December 2020, Jamya worked as Research Staff at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where they performed observations, data entry, and influenced studies on proper mask usage among students. Jamya'sresearch was presented at the 2021 American Thoracic Society Conference and published in The American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. Currently, since April 2022, they hold a position as a Community Health Worker at CareStar.

Jamya Minor pursued their education in the field of public health. Jamya first attended West Virginia University from 2017 to 2020, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Public Health. Later in 2020, Jamya enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Manoa for a short period, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology, and Public Health.
