Jeffrey Ayers began their legal career at Blackwell Sanders Peper in 1996, where they quickly rose to the position of Managing Partner of the London office. In 1999, they left the firm to join Aquila Merchant Services, Inc. as Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. Jeffrey held this position for three years before moving to GE Insurance Solutions in 2003, where they served as Vice President & Associate General Counsel until 2005. In January 2005, Ayers joined NovaStar Financial as Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, a position they held until December 2007. Jeffrey is currently Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Career Education. Throughout their career, Ayers has been recognized as a leading expert in corporate law, and they have played a vital role in the success of each of the companies they have worked for.

Jeffrey Ayers began their educational career by obtaining a Bachelor of Science from Graceland University in the field of mathematics and computer science. Jeffrey then went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Law from the University of Iowa.
