Tuomas Valtonen has an extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Tuomas started their career as the Chief Operating Officer at Precordior Ltd in 2016. Tuomas later became the Chief Executive Officer and a Board Member of the company. In 2018, they served as the Chairman of the China Europe Health and Sports Council, where they managed and led the organization.
Valtonen also held several positions at Turun yliopisto - University of Turku, including being the Leader of the Indo-Finnish Collaborative Research Project and the Director of the Technology Research Center. Tuomas was also the European Project Coordinator of the BalticFlows project and a Board Member of the European Technology Platform for Water WssTP.
Additionally, Valtonen was a Board Member of the Finnish Water Forum and served as the Chairman of the Expert Group on Regional Smart Specialisation of Southwest Finland. Tuomas was also a Steering Committee Member of the Team Finland Water Sector Growth Program and the Chairman of the Expert Group on Foresight on ICT Competencies Needs in Southwest Finland. Moreover, they were the European Coordinator of the Water Quality Co-Lead Programme and a Steering Group Member at the China-Europe Water Platform.
Prior to these roles, Valtonen worked as the Chief Operating Officer at QEM Software Ltd. in 2011.
Tuomas Valtonen completed their Master of Science in Engineering degree in the field of Information Technology, Telecommunication, and Industrial Management from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, spanning from 1990 to 2000.
