Ray Brophy recognizes the value of a strong work ethic. During his more than four decades with Cardinal Group, he has steadily progressed his way up through the company – from laborer, supervisor, and estimator to sales, vice president, and, today, president. This varied yet relevant knowledge base has given Ray the aptitude to more clearly envision Cardinal’s ability to grow and cultivate customers, as well as relate to employees at all levels.
“My diversified background has taught me to remain cautiously open-minded,” says Ray. “While there are a lot of challenges in this business, you can’t be afraid of them. Our company’s customer diversity is what makes every day exciting.”
Being a contributing member of the community is important to Ray, too. He’s a past president of First Tee of Greater Akron, an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people. Ray’s also a strong supporter of the Petrosino Well Being Foundation, a community outreach program that assists victims of violent crime, such as human trafficking, and he’s an advocate of neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form on nerve tissue.
Over the years, Ray has witnessed the company’s evolution from a maintenance company to a total industrial services provider. “I’m proud of who Cardinal Group has become,” shares Ray, “both as a successful company and a contributing member of the community.”
