Matt is currently serving as the Head of the School of Journalism, Media and Culture at Cardiff University, where they oversee the strategic direction of the school, its teaching, research, and social impact. Matt Walsh earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from King's College London from 1992 to 1995. Matt then pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at Falmouth University from 1996 to 1997. Most recently, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Journalism at City, University of London from 2015 to 2022. In addition, they obtained certifications as a Fellow from the Higher Education Academy in 2016 and as an Associate Fellow from The Higher Education Academy in September 2015.
