Carl Talsma is a highly skilled research scientist currently employed at Carbon Solutions LLC, where significant contributions include leading frontend UI/UX development for software utilizing Dash.jl in Julia and React since October 2021. Previously, as a research technologist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Talsma developed advanced machine learning models for various applications, resulting in multiple peer-reviewed publications and participation in the SmartTensors project, which earned a R&D100 award. Prior experience also includes a tenure as a post-master researcher and graduate research assistant at Oregon State University, focusing on remote sensing of evapotranspiration. Talsma holds a Master of Science in Water Resources Engineering from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University.
