Connor is currently an autonomous robot operator at Carbon Robotics. Prior to this, they worked as a third assistant engineer officer at the United States Department of Defense from April 2016 to October 2020. There, they monitored the safe and efficient operation of engineering machinery, equipment and spaces, entered data in logs, and reported special events in the appropriate logs. They also performed routine maintenance and repair of engine room machinery and auxiliary equipment; and observed engine/fire room repairs and work being done by shipyard or other shore side facility.
Before working at the United States Department of Defense, Connor was an engine cadet at Maersk Line from May 2014 to August 2014. There, they were responsible for day to day operations of certain machinery and maintenance of propulsion systems and power generation devices.
Connor's first job was as a crew member on the SS Jeremiah O'Brien from January 2013 to May 2013. After that, they worked as a statistician and media manager at California Maritime Academy from January 2013 to April 2016.
Connor has a mechanical engineering BS from the California State University Maritime Academy. Connor also has a high school diploma from the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies. Connor is certified by the U.S. Coast Guard in Marine Firefighters Certification and by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors in PADI Open Water Diver- Diver Level 2. Connor is also certified by the U.S. Coast Guard in Certified Lifeboatman and by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in Transportation Worker Identification Credential. Connor also has a certification from the U.S. Coast Guard in Third Assistant Engineer - Upper Level.
