Ryan Blades has over 15 years of experience in Facilities Services and Campus Planning. Ryan is currently the Director of Facilities Services & Campus Planning at Capilano University. Prior to their current role, Ryan was the Manager of Corporate Services at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Ryan has also held positions as a Research Assistant at the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor and as an English Second Language Teacher at Gongyi No. 2 Senior High School in China. Ryan began their career as a Production and Art Department Assistant at the Directors Guild of Canada. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Simon Fraser University.

Ryan Blades has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Ottawa. Ryan also has certification from the Project Management Institute in Project Management Professional (PMP) and from Prosci Canada, ULC. in Prosci Certificate in Change Management.

Their manager is Paul Dangerfield, President & Vice-Chancellor.
