Kari Wharton is the Manager of University Relations at Capilano University. Kari has over 20 years of experience in development and operations management, with a focus on corporate and foundation relations.

Kari began their career as a Director of North American Operations for Golden Key International Honour Society. In this role, they were responsible for developing and executing project plans, budgets, and marketing campaigns. Kari also oversaw two country managers and their staffs of five or more employees.

After 10 years with Golden Key, Kari transitioned to The University of British Columbia, where they served as a Development Officer for Corporate & Foundation Relations. In this role, they cultivated relationships with corporate donors, developed fundraising proposals, and managed donor stewardship programs.

After four years at UBC, Kari took their current position at Capilano University, where they are responsible for managing university relations and fundraising initiatives. Under their leadership, Capilano has seen significant growth in both alumni engagement and philanthropic giving.

Kari Wharton completed their Bachelor of Arts in Economics at The University of British Columbia.
