Anna Tivnan started their work experience in 2007 as a receptionist for All State Home Health. In 2012, they worked as a process improvement intern for the Colorado Department of Transportation. From 2013-2014, Tivnan graded engineering economics and intermediate macroeconomics at the Colorado School of Mines. In 2014, they started working for Canoe Ventures as an operations engineer and was later promoted to senior engineer and manager of operations and service assurance.

Anna Tivnan obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Economics at the Colorado School of Mines from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, they earned their Masters of Science degree in Mineral and Energy Economics from the same institution between 2013 and 2015.
