Barry Laxer is the current Chief Operating Officer at Cannara Biotech. Prior to this, they were the owner and manager of Radical Design Ltd from February 1995 to December 2006. Barry moved the company to the Toronto region in 1995 and expanded operations to include the production of knitted fabrics, dyeing of fabrics, cutting & sewing, screen printing, embroidery and product distribution. Barry leveraged their multidisciplinary industry expertise to specialize in printing services for brand, which allowed him to onboard fabric production, dying, and manufacturing through an external supplier. This secured new contracts for Radical Design Ltd as a garment company, servicing clients such as Adidas, Nautica, Norther Reflections, Puma, Guess, Nike and Tommy Hilfiger.
Operationally, this involved transitioning operations into a large scale garment vertical, thereby increasing profitability and producing 350K pieces per month. Driving growth and efficiencies, Barry also internalized cutting and sewing manufacturing processes, purchased and expanded a sewing factory from 40 to 100 machines/cutting equipment, and purchased a fabric mill to enhance production to 100 tons per month.
From a management perspective, Barry was responsible for product development and sales of sportswear, overseeing production (including onboarding a production manager), and managed finances and banking relationships.
Barry Laxer graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor's degree in Art/Art Studies, General.
Barry Laxer reports to Zohar Krivorot, CEO & Founder. Some of their coworkers include Lennie Ryer - CFO, Alex Wolfe - VP Business Development.
