Poonam Bagai has a diverse range of work experience. Poonam began their career in 1984 as a Class I Government of India Officer with the Indian Railways, where they served until 1994. From 1995 to 1997, they worked as a Transport Consultant at UN ESCAP in Bangkok. In 2005, they joined Pallium India as Vice Chairman, a position they held until recently. Bagai also served as Chairman at CanKids KidsCan starting in 2012. Poonam has been involved with Childhood Cancer International since 2012, initially as a Board Member and later as Treasurer from 2015 to 2017. Furthermore, they have been a Member of the Ethics Review Committee at Medanta Hospital since 2016.
Poonam Bagai completed their 12th grade education at Convent of Jesus And Mary in New Delhi, where they studied from 1965 to 1980. Following this, they pursued a BA Hons degree in Economics at St. Stephen's College in Delhi from the years 1980 to 1983.
