Thomas West is a seasoned engineering professional with a strong background in the medical device industry. Currently serving as a Principal Systems Engineer at Candela Medical since January 2023, Thomas focuses on Class 4 laser-based medical devices. Prior to this role, Thomas spent four years at Fresenius Medical Care North America, advancing from Systems Engineer II to Senior Systems Engineer, working on drug generation and delivery devices associated with the NxStage brand. Thomas’s expertise also includes a position as Mechanical Engineer II at NxStage Medical, where contributions were made to testing and system integration for an In-Home Peritoneal Dialysis Cycler. An educational background in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University, complemented by multiple co-op experiences in R&D and engineering roles, has shaped Thomas’s professional journey.
