Robert Torka has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Robert is currently the Director of Business Development Europe at Vyant Bio, where they coordinate innovative bioengineering technologies, data science, and development strategies for drug discovery. Prior to this role, they worked as a Business Development Specialist at VivoPharm / Vyant Bio, focusing on functional micro tissue engineering and pharmacological services. Before joining Vyant Bio, Robert had experience in category management and business development at nimax GmbH. Robert also worked as a Lecturer and Group Leader at The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, and as a Project Manager and Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, where they focused on small molecule inhibitor development. Earlier in their career, Robert held positions as an Application Specialist at Olympus Soft Imaging Solutions, a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, and a Research Assistant at Bayer Health Care AG / Institute of Cell Biology University of Bonn. Robert started their career as the Head of Laboratory at the Institute of Pathology and Cytology in Bonn.
Robert Torka obtained a Diploma in Biology from The University of Bonn in 2000. Robert then pursued their education further at the same university and received a Dr.rer.nat degree in Cell Biology in 2006. Their research in cell biological analysis focused on the mechanics and regulation of migration and invasion strategies in breast cancer. Additionally, their earlier studies involved comparative investigations of water beetle zoonoses in nature preservation and military training.
