Spencer Brawner is an experienced IT professional with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Spencer started their career in 1999 as a Systems Administrator for Business Operations at Dayton Public Schools. During their time there, they were a Technical Analyst for Network Infrastructure, Desktop Support, and Helpdesk, as well as a Desktop Support Technician. In 2008, they took on the role of Director of Information Technology at the Edmonton Elks, where they established IT strategies and policies for business operations and football operations, and managed IT asset and service budgeting, billing, and supplier contract management. In 2013, they joined Edmonton International Airport as Manager of IT Infrastructure & Security, and also served as a System Administrator for Operational Systems. In 2020, they became the Chief Technology Officer of JustCook Kitchens, where they employed control and authorization over the development and execution of technology strategy, application stack, roadmap, and governance. In 2021, Spencer began working as IT Operations Supervisor at Sturgeon County, where they demonstrated expertise in leading all daily operations of the service desk while providing oversight for worksite support, server administration, network administration, and cybersecurity activities. Most recently, in 2022, Spencer took on the role of Director of Information Security at Canalyst, where they build and maintains fundamental models that the world's largest, most successful investment managers rely on to get the cleanest fundamental data and leverage their time.
Spencer Brawner obtained their Master of Business Administration - MBA from the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta in 2020, where they studied Business Administration, Management and Operations. Spencer also holds certifications from AXELOS Global Best Practice, CompTIA, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Cisco, including ITIL v4 Foundation Level (2019), ITIL v3 Foundation Level (2016), Network+ (2007), AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (2022), and CISCO CCENT (2008).
