Steven Beasley is an experienced communications and organizational leader with a diverse background in student advocacy and governance. Currently serving as a Communications Specialist and Local Government Liaison for the Canadian Union of Public Employees since August 2018, Steven previously held the role of Executive Director at the Douglas Students' Union, overseeing operations for an organization with a $3 million annual budget. Steven's earlier experience includes serving as Executive Director for the BC Federation of Students and the Vancouver Island University Students' Union, as well as a Director with Mid Island Co-op, where governance policy redevelopment was a key focus. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Geography and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Victoria and Vancouver Island University, respectively, along with an Associate of Arts degree.
