Judy Busnarda has a strong background in publishing operations and management. Judy began their career in 2006 as a Managing Editor at the National Research Council Canada, where they were responsible for overseeing the production of scientific journals. Their responsibilities included supervising a team of editors and assistants, creating production schedules, training staff, and ensuring quality and style standards were met.
In 2008, Judy joined NRC Research Press as a Manager of Publishing Services. Judy held this role for two years before transitioning to Canadian Science Publishing in 2010. Here, they initially served as the Manager of Publishing Services until 2015 when they were promoted to the position of Director, Publishing Operations.
Throughout their career, Judy has demonstrated strong leadership skills, project management abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in scientific publishing.
Judy Busnarda completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry at Wilfrid Laurier University between 1986 and 1990. Judy then pursued a Master of Science degree in Biology at the University of Ottawa from 1991 to 1993. Additionally, in September 2004, Judy obtained a certification as an Editor in the Life Sciences from the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS).
