David Muir has extensive experience in environmental and earth sciences, currently serving as the interim Environmental and Earth Sciences Manager and Senior Scientist at Canadian Light Source Inc. since December 2006. Muir's work focuses on the IDEAS Beamline and previously included contributions to the REIXS XES Endstation as a Science Associate. Muir's earlier roles included Park Patrol/Dispatch Officer at Calgary Stampede and Supplies & Distribution Manager at Park Ambulance Service Ltd, along with security experience at Initial Security. Academically, Muir holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics and Engineering Physics, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Engineering Physics, all obtained from the University of Saskatchewan, alongside an Engineering Transfer credential from Mount Royal University.
