Jeremy Geelen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy analysis and advisory roles within Canadian research and government sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research since February 2019, Geelen previously held the position of Senior Policy Analyst at Innovation, Science and Economic Development from August 2018 to February 2019, and Senior Planning and Performance Analyst at the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) from March 2014 to August 2018. Earlier roles include Policy Analyst positions at both the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Institute for Science, Society and Policy. Geelen also has experience in editorial management and university teaching, complemented by a strong academic background with a Ph.D. and M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa, along with a B.A. in Philosophy from Western University.
