Bill Oemichen is a Professor of Practice in Law and Senior Research Fellow in Food Systems Security and Preparedness at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on food production security during crises and related legal issues. Oemichen also serves as a Sessional Instructor at the University of Saskatchewan and is a barrister and solicitor for Canadian cooperatives. With extensive experience in governance and legal matters, Oemichen has held leadership roles including President & CEO of Cooperative Network and Director of the Office of Preparedness & Emergency Health Care for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. An accomplished academic, Oemichen is pursuing a PhD in Food Systems Risk and has authored significant legislation and research in cooperative law and agricultural data governance. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a PhD in Public Policy from the University of Saskatchewan.
