Joel Courchesne is an experienced architect and sustainability specialist, currently serving as an Architect at SGPI - Division Transition Écologie et de l'innovation within the Ville de Montréal since November 2022. With a long-standing affiliation with the Canada Green Building Council since 2008 as a member of the CaGBC Faculty, Joel has held various roles, including senior architect and consultant for LEED certification at multiple organizations. Notable positions include Architect at the Bureau de la Transition Écologique et de la Résilience, Consultant for LEED at CHUM phases 1 and 2 with Construction Santé Montréal and Pomerleau, and business leader at Courchesne et associés inc. Joel’s academic contributions include teaching roles at Université Laval and École Polytechnique de Montréal, focusing on sustainable building practices. Joel Courchesne earned a Bac in Architecture from Université Laval between 1983 and 1987.
