Kurt Nelson possesses extensive expertise in food safety and quality assurance, currently serving as the SQF Practitioner & Regulatory Lead at Cameron's Coffee and Distribution since 2017, where responsibilities include the development and maintenance of Food Safety and Quality programs and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Previously, Kurt held the position of Food Safety and Quality Manager at Jack Link's Protein Snacks, overseeing plant quality systems and managing a team of supervisors and inspectors. Kurt's career in food safety began as a Senior Microbiologist/Supervisor at E.A. Sween - Deli Express, followed by roles in quality assurance at Davisco Foods, Rich Products Corporation, Emmpak Foods Corp, and Kolb-Lena Company, demonstrating a strong background in quality management across various food manufacturing environments. Kurt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Northern Illinois University.
