Richard B. is a Senior Scientist with Cambridge Epigenetix since 2023. Prior to this, they were a Senior Scientist at LifeArc from 2017 to 2023, where they were IOSH accredited in Biological Safety Management for assisting BSO activities. Richard also assisted in the execution and performance of Protein Production department with a focus on optimised lab scale Upstream performance in CHO/293 systems for small scale to bioreactor scale. Richard developed optimised protocols for delivering high recoveries of a diverse range of non-optimised protein modalities. From 2007 to 2017, they were a Scientist at MRC Technology, where they were responsible for Antigen production and production of monoclonal antibodies through mammalian transient expression. Prior to this, they were an Associate Scientist at Oxford Bio Innovation (Beckman Coulter) from 2003 to 2007. During this time, they developed conjugated antigens for generating B cell responses, performed lab scale expression, purification and enzyme labelled conjugation of antibody batches, and optimised ELISA immunoassays for specificity and sensitivity.
Richard B. attended Richard Hale from 1993 to 2000. Richard then went on to attend Oxford Brookes University from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a BSc in Biology & Music. Richard also holds a certification in Biological Safety - Management & Practice from IOSH.
