Carlos Moedas serves as the Mayor of Lisbon since October 2021, bringing extensive experience in both public service and the private sector. Prior to this role, Carlos Moedas was a Trustee at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and served as the European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation from November 2014 to November 2019. Additional previous positions include Secretary of State to the Prime Minister of Portugal, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Crimson Investment Management, and Managing Director at Aguirre Newman. Carlos Moedas has a solid educational background, including an MBA from Harvard Business School and multiple honorary degrees in management and law from prestigious institutions.
