Gary Smith is an experienced executive in the oil and gas industry, with a background in ship brokerage, research, and commercial advisory. Gary currently serves as an independent, non-executive director at Caltex Australia Ltd.

Smith began their career in the energy industry with Poten & Partners, where they spent over three years as a senior adviser and manager of commercial LNG. Gary then moved to Golar LNG, where they served as CEO for three years before taking on the role of commercial adviser.

In 2009, Smith joined Caltex Australia Ltd as general manager of supply chain. Gary was promoted to CEO in 2014 and served in that role until 2016. Gary has been an independent, non-executive director at Caltex Australia Ltd since February 2015.

Gary Smith has a BE in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Chemical Technology from the University of New South Wales.
