Rick Capitanio has a long and varied work history. Rick started their career in 1982 as a Fisheries Technician for the Peace Corps in Ecuador, South America. In this role, they educated farmers and indigenous people on how to raise fresh-water fish for enhanced protein diets. In 1994, they joined Calsense as a service representative and worked with customers in the field, servicing the product and teaching end users how to be successful with the Calsense soil moisture sensing technology. Through their passion for teaching, they were able to make a difference in empowering others to adopt and use innovative technology. In 2005, they were promoted to Vice President and then to Director of Sales & Marketing, where they built a sales team that covered the California, Nevada, Arizona and Pacific Northwest markets.
Rick Capitanio obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boston College between 1977 and 1981. Rick then went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching from Boston University between 1985 and 1986, specializing in the Art of Teaching Biology.
