John Hicks is a seasoned technology leader currently serving as the Director of Software Engineering and Enterprise Architect at CalPortland, where the focus is on developing internal and external applications. Prior to this, John was an Architect at Liberty Mutual Insurance, overseeing a $13 billion web-based quoting portal for a vast network of insurance agents. As a Freelance Consultant, John led significant systems integration projects for major insurers and held senior management roles at Outerwall, where John implemented Agile processes and led database operations. Previous experience includes consulting for Fortune 100 companies at Microsoft and developing key systems at T-Mobile. John holds a Master of Philosophy from Brock University and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwest Nazarene University.
