Kapil Sharma is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in operational analytics and optimization, currently serving as Director of Operational Analytics & Optimization at Calpine since April 2011. In this role, Kapil leads initiatives to enhance thermal performance and economic dispatch of power plants, alongside overseeing a Predictive Maintenance program. Previous roles include Senior Program Manager and Performance Optimization Engineer, where Kapil developed machine learning models with high prediction accuracy for economic valuation in energy markets. Prior experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant position at Texas A&M University, and managerial and engineering roles at Tata Motors, where a successful SUV launch was achieved. Kapil holds dual Master of Science degrees in Data Analytics and Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
