Doctor Tyson secured a significant contract with one of California's largest and most successful health plans, thanks to her expertise in Medicare and Medi-Cal benefits. Building on the achievements of TA and her commitment to enhancing human patient care through open access to healthcare services, Dr Amber Tyson founded Precision Connect in 2013.

Precision Connect

Initially focused on supporting health plans with their transportation-focused call centers, Precision Connect (PC) has evolved into a comprehensive consultancy specializing in call center vendor and operations management. As Southern California’s premier non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) consultancy, Precision Connect aims to bridge the difference between patients and essential transportation services, for underserved communities, while ensuring the security of these services.

Currently, M. Amber Tyson MD (also known as Amber Tyson MD, Dr Amber Tyson, or Maureen Amber Tyson) consults for Call the Car, California's largest NEMT broker based in Washington Blvd, Pasadena. Dr Amber has significantly improved operations for the company by addressing various challenges, including technology integration and vendor management. Upon review, the company now executes 6-7 million rides per year and has experienced exponential growth.

Rather than focusing on select patients, Dr M. Amber Tyson is committed to advancing healthcare accessibility for everyone, particularly the most vulnerable, and wants to continue providing them with local access to services. Her goal is to remove barriers to healthcare access, ensuring that services are available to those who need them most. Since 2013, she has led Precision Connect, a NEMT consultancy business, in implementing effective solutions that enhance NEMT brokers' operations, resulting in millions of trips delivered annually across the U.S. and beyond.

A strong advocate for sustainability, Dr Tyson uses her Precision Connect platform to work with healthcare transportation companies to promote a greener transportation industry, encouraging them to continue promoting their green initiatives or adopt hybrid and electric vehicles in the future. The aim is to reduce fossil fuel consumption and promote environmental health, all while delivering cost savings to patients.

Philanthropic Work

In addition to her professional endeavors, Dr Tyson dedicates her time to supporting her local California community, Pasadena, including serving her local Pasadena Polytechnic School as a Trustee and is a member of Caltech Associates. She decided to join the organization in 2005 and has been a supporting member ever since. Doctor Amber is also an Angel Investor for start-up fund TenOneTen Ventures and a supporter of the Living Beauty Cancer Foundation which educates, uplifts, and empowers women with cancer across Pasadena, Beverly Hills, and Southern California, by providing them with wellness and healing opportunities. A certified Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, she received a medical degree (MD) from Cornell University and completed her residency at UCLA after receiving an undergraduate degree from Stanford University in Biological Sciences.

A quick Google would tell you, that Dr Amber Tyson is a devoted mother to two daughters, and enjoys traveling with them outside the country, having explored three continents, over a dozen countries, and many states across the U.S.

She remains committed to ensuring that all patients have access to the care they need, driven by a passion for operational efficiency and improved patient outcomes. This mission, to provide open access to healthcare for all Californians originated with her mother and father, who moved the family to Pasadena and opened an OB/GYN to serve low-income patients. Growing up in a family of physicians, she shares a special connection with her sister Michelle, a Family Medicine physician who also specializes in healthcare transportation and serves as CEO of Call the Car, located on Washington Blvd in Pasadena.
